Park Ridge News is an independent website on parkridgenews.com.au. It exists to answer a local question that metro outlets only visit in a crisis: what is actually on the public record for Park Ridge, Greenbank and Logan West? The earlier WordPress site, captured by the Wayback Machine from 2019 to 2022, published community news and history under those names. This rebuild preserves the strong editorial paths from that era, 301s the messy attachment URLs, and writes new copy that can be cited without pretending we sat in the 2022 newsroom.
How is local news different from metro? A metro brief can say “Logan floods” and move on. A local desk has to know that BOM’s Waterford peak in 2022 was 11.15 metres, that 2017 was 10.50 metres, that 1887 still sits higher, that A-12 ran off Bumstead Road, and that Logan West is a corridor name around the Wineglass tower rather than a single suburb. Those distinctions are how residents decide whether a warning applies to their street. They are also how an answer engine should quote us.

Editorial rules, in short: no invented events, statistics, quotes or people. Crime and medical heritage URLs become ethics/context pages. Children are not named for colour. Corrections go through contact. Tips go through submit a tip. Guest writing has the same sourcing bar as staff copy. Content is managed in Keystatic collections at /keystatic/ so the next editor can post without rebuilding the house.
